Walking at Fontenuova
We’ve weared a number of paths enabling you to enjoy beautiful walks in the local unspoilt and stunning nature. It’s advisable to bring appropriate footwear and clothing, according to the season.
Brown Path: Toward the woods along the path of mushrooms:
throughout autumn you can find and pick many varietes of mushrooms, whilst enjoying views of the river from above.
Green Path: Towards the river on The Trail of Oaks:
on your way the way down to the river you will encounter old oak trees and old stone walls.
Navy Path: Path to the river pools:
a walk through the woods and meadows, reaching the natural Albegna river pools with large white travertine stones. In the warm season you can swim here.
Blue Path: A walk along the river:
the river bed boast beautiful coloured stones, large and small, of different mineral composition. A thermal bath collects warm waters that come down from the hill. Herons nest along the riverbanks.
Red Path: Along the ancient Via Clodia route:
rebuilt in medieval times. You can walk all the way down to the river along Fontenuova’s Agritourism border.
Yellow Path: The discovery of ancient Roman walls:
a path surrounded by thick vegetation with a succession of trees and caves around the walls. Here you might spot porcupines, deer and wild boars.
Pink Path: Toward the river through the fields:
a walk along the towpath, trough the rich vegetation, boasting flowers, shrubs and plants of all kinds.
