Outside the Walls
At the foot of the town, there is a lush geothermal spring, with steamy water reaching temperatures of 37c°. The warm water flows across the land in what is known as the ‘Gorello’ and then becomes a waterfall with shallow rock pools that can be enjoyed all year round. The luxurious welcomes day visitors, offering the use of their facilities to non-guests.
Near Saturnia there are plenty of opportunities for trekking and horse riding. Within 20/30kilometres there are multiple archaeological sites and medieval towns, such as , , . A little further away, is the and , and the archaeological sites of Vulci, Tuscania and Tarquinia are one hour’s drive away. Other nearby attractions include the of the lake Burano, the city of Capalbio, , and the . . Throughout spring and summer the Tuscan region comes to life with food festivals and celebrations where locals come together to party, eat and sell local produce.
